Sinds 1 april 2019 is de Generieke Poortinstructie (GPI) verplicht op alle bouwplaatsen in Nederland van bouw- en installatiebedrijven die zijn aangesloten bij de Governance Code Veiligheid in de Bouw (GCVB).
Het initiatief is gericht op het verhogen van de veiligheid en het stimuleren van veilig gedrag op bouwplaatsen.
Waarom de GPI?
Poortinstructies zijn verplichte instructies die alle medewerkers vooraf moeten volgen als zij een bouwplaats willen betreden. Daarbij wordt een toets afgelegd.
Het doel van de GPI: het verhogen van het veiligheidsbewustzijn én duidelijk maken wat er van medewerkers wordt verwacht op het gebied van veiligheid op de bouwplaats.
De Generieke Poortinstructie draagt bij aan het verbeteren van veilig gedrag op de bouwplaats. Omdat de GPI gelijk is voor alle bedrijven en bouwplaatsen, ontstaat er meer duidelijkheid over het gewenste veiligheidsgedrag. Zo wordt er één duidelijke norm gesteld – en gehanteerd – binnen de hele sector.
